Sunday School is on break for the summer. It will resume in September 2010. Grades Pre-K and Kindergarten: This class has its own age-appropriate curriculum and meets in the Fellowship Hall. Grade-school age classes are based on the Rotational Model that teaches the major stories and concepts of the Bible through kid-friendly multimedia workshops such as Art, Cooking, Games, Science, Storytelling, and Movie workshops. The workshops are led by many enthusiastic members of our congregation who have eagerly accepted the mission of teaching our children. For more information, contact the church office or our Sunday School Superintendent, Vijitha Benjamin. This year the curriculum is based on the denomination’s 2009 Children’s Mission Yearbook for Prayer & Study. The children will learn about:
The children say "good-bye" to teacher, Michael Whaley, as he relocates to North Carolina. Middle
School Age Group: In January, the Middle School class will resume its
study of the Old Testament with a series of lessons on the time between the
crossing of the Jordan River into the Promised Land through the stories of the
kings of Israel and Judah. We will learn about the leaders of the Israelites,
their successes and their failings, and we will see God’s love at work through
all of this.
The 2009 Confirmation Class was received into membership in May. Senior High
Age Group: The senior high class meets at the church office and then
usually walks down to the coffee house. The class
is led by Pastor Anita, with new topics each week. There are two adult Sunday School classes, one that meets in the Wicoff Library, led by Clay Spence, and a second that meets upstairs in the Stults Room, led by Grant Brooke and Tyler Pettigrew. The library class is studying the many names of Jesus. The upstairs class will explore selected passages from Dietrich Bonhoeffer's Cost of Discipleship.
